My Residencies

Participating in residencies gives me uninterrupted time to grow my art practice. I’m able to dive into my creative process by taking risks, experimenting with new mediums and techniques, making tons of mistakes, and playing. I especially love residencies with other participants to bounce ideas off of, collaborate, and be inspired by their work. I always come back to my studio refreshed and full of new ideas and skills.

WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA

Penland School of Craft

Penland was on my bucket list of schools to attend. Prior to taking a class there, I was accepted into the Winter Residency. My project for the 2 weeks was to work very large. I was inspired by the Silver Grass on campus and started a series of paintings which I used as reference, stencils and mixed media organic objects. It snowed while I was there and it was magical. Penland is always magical!

GHOST RANCH, NEW MEXICO

Estudio Corazón Residency

Ghost Ranch is one of my favorite places on the earth. Georgia O’keefe informs my art on a daily basis. To have the opportunity to walk in her footsteps, to see what she saw and to paint the incredible landscape is a dream come true.
